MISSION
Our
mission is to improve public awareness of the oceans. Our
goal is to educate the public, primarily children, students
and teachers, about the ocean and marine life. There is
so much to learn about the diversity of marine life, our
interdependence upon it and our responsibility to protect
it.
The
Marine Mammal Study Center provides outreach and research
projects, bringing a piece of the ocean to preschools, elementary
and handicapped schools. We provide "hands-on" experiences
in all that we do. By teaching others about the wonders
of the ocean, we hope to convey a positive long-term view
about the planet Earth, the oceans and our impact upon them.
The Marine Mammal Study Center is active in studying and
documenting marine mammals in their natural environment,
their interaction with humans, and the impact that humans
have upon their environment. We are actively working with
Reverie Productions
to gather this information and offer it to the public though
film and television productions, location based entertainment,
and new media projects.
The
Marine Mammal Study Center is a 501 (c )(3) nonprofit research
and education organization located in Southern California.
